The MoF streamlined the online GST registration process. Through the GST Portal, the applicant can apply for a GST number. When an application is submitted, the site immediately produces a GST ARN. The applicant can check the status of their application and, if necessary, post questions using the GST ARN. The taxpayer must get a GST registration certificate and GSTIN within 7 days of ARN production.

  14. ARN Generated


It has become crucial for a person to apply for their GST number. Due to the ease with which a regular person may check the GST registration status procedure, many people now accept the GST Registration alone and subsequently becomes a defaulter owing to ignorance of the law. Giving incorrect information while registering is a breach. It has been noted that some people are registering for GST at the wrong address based on a lease agreement or on the property from which they are not running. The penalty for providing false information is higher than Rs. 10,000 or the tax that is owed by that individual under the Act, as stated in Section 122(1)(xii), under which it can be punished.
